Coffee Rock Retaining Walls in the Perth Hills

Hills property owners have long leant on coffee rock (laterite) as the local stone of choice for their retaining walls and landscaping features.

Functional, workable by hand, and readily available along the Darling Scarp (often abundantly on site), its iron-rich, firey tones and gravelly textures blend beautifully with the surrounding native jarrah and marri bushland.

We have many years of experience working with coffee rock in projects throughout the Perth Hills, from Lesmurdie, to Sawyers Valley and Gidgegannup.

NATURAL LOOK

When working with coffee rock, less is often more. Weathered surfaces look worn in and rugged, while splitting the stone can unearth rich laterite reds and mottled iron patterns.

To fully accentuate the stone’s earthy textures and tones, we shape each stone by hand, then build the retaining walls and feature stonework with tight, neatly raked joints that showcase the natural features. No cement to hide behind - just the natural rock in its raw form and beauty.

Handcrafted for a natural Hills look

MATERIALS

Built to stand the test of time

Our coffee rock walls are crafted to achieve a ‘dry stacked’ aesthetic while maintaining structural integrity, making them ideal for retaining walls, standalone feature walls and other stonework forms.

Retaining walls can be built to help retain garden beds and manage the drainage pressure demands of steep Hills properties, ensuring your walls last a lifetime.
