GREEN HILL DOWNS, revisited
This project was completed while working for Rumsey Stonemasonry (my dad’s business), circa 2007. Built amidst the rolling green hills of Gidgegannup, the client requested a traditional entry statement design, complete with pillars and curved finish. Locally sourced laterite (aka coffee rock), shaped from loose and split boulders, and finished in a tight, raked joint finish to achieve a dry stack aesthetic. A built in mailbox and gate hinges for the installation of a custom iron gate completed the build. The rusted reds of the laterite really pop against the winter grass, welcoming arrivals with a homely, inviting feel.
